Executive Assistant

The Harrison County Assessor’s Office is seeking a dependable, organized, and professional
Executive Assistant. This position will provide administrative support, assist with daily office operations,
coordinate schedules, prepare correspondence and reports, and work with the public in a courteous and
professional manner.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Assessor’s Office.
- Managing calendars, appointments, and scheduling for the Assessor.
- Preparing correspondence, reports, agendas, and other office documents.
- Receiving and directing office communications in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting with public inquiries, taxpayer questions, and office customer service.
- Maintaining organized files, records, and confidential information.
- Coordinating meetings, travel arrangements, and office logistics.
- Assisting with special projects, reports, and office operations as assigned.
- Supporting public relations, community outreach, and informational materials as needed.
- Maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion in all office matters.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
- Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in office administration, clerical support, or executive assistance preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to work professionally with employees, elected officials, taxpayers, and the public.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
- Valid West Virginia driver’s license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a government office, county office, or administrative setting.
- Knowledge of office procedures, records management, and customer service.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and general office software.
- Ability to prepare professional correspondence and presentations.
- Experience supporting executive-level staff or managing calendars and appointments.
The successful applicant must be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and maintain a
professional and courteous attitude while supporting the Assessor and the office.
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with county pay scales and experience.
